Do you serve muslim families exclusively?

Nope! Birth Under Wraps believes in the inclusion and support of families of any background. While we do cater specifically to the needs of Muslim women and their growing families, we are confident that our products and services are valuable to any expectant person. In fact, because of our personal experience as a marginalized minority community, we have found that individuals from other overlooked communities find our services uniquely well-suited for them as well. Content that is specific to the Muslim family is delivered in separate modules, and can be skipped over if you should choose to do so.

I see that content is available online. Am I able to work with you in person?

Absolutely! Birth Under Wraps is based in the Maryland-Washington, D.C. area, and does take on private clients in person. If you'd like to work with us, please reach out to us here for more details.

i'm pretty sure that I'll be having a c-section. is childbirth education right for me?

Without a doubt! Our curriculum expands from common issues experienced in the second and third trimesters and into postpartum care. We do include a module specific to cesarean birth as well as it's important for every woman to be well-informed about what the processes of birth look like - no matter how she chooses to birth herself.

I see a lot of childbirth classes only talk about 'natural' birth, but I can't see myself birthing without pain medication. Is this class right for me?

You're definitely in the right place. One of the fundamental values that we share is that women should be supported without regard to how she chooses to birth. In our course, we discuss both non-medical and medical comfort measures. Modules include how to find relief during labor, what the side effects of any of these options might be, and the benefits to each. You'll learn what types of options are available to you both from your birth team and from your anesthesiologist so that you can feel comfortable choosing what's best for you, when and how you need it.
